How we build each dataset

A dataset is planned around one question and a named set of source pages. When a page is read, the exact sentence that carries the number is saved, along with where and when we found it.

Each candidate sentence passes through review, and any rejection carries a written reason. The median and range count one figure per source, one per breakdown where a source gives several. Sources without a figure are marked rather than guessed, and regular re-reads track what moves.

De-identification standards, what each requires

6 de-identification and redaction standards were read for what they require removed or transformed, each answer quoted from the standard's own text, read 8 October 2026.

The method it accepts, by standard: several methods, by context 2 of 6, not stated 1 of 6, pseudonymisation with the key kept separately 1 of 6, reasonable measures so the data cannot be linked to a person 1 of 6, removing the listed identifiers 1 of 6 (6 standards, read 8 October 2026).
